Kerrigan’s first trip on a plane took place today.
Madeline and I set our alarms for 5:00am and 6:00am respectively. We decided the most efficient and least stressful way to get ready for a week long trip was to start packing 2 hours before we needed to leave for the airport. But it actually went well and we did not forget anything we needed for the trip actually.
At 6am I asked ChatGPT when we should leave giving the time of travel and the time our flight birds and he said 5:30 to 6am. I thought that was funny and planned to leave at 7 because ChatGPT doesn’t know that I know the airport is small and has a small TSA line. Anyway point is we made it to the airport at around 7:40 am with a plane taking off at 9:00.
We checked Maddie’s bag and got our boarding passes at the American Airlines ticketing center, went through TSA, and walked to our gate. Of course we had the very last gate on the entire airport, it seems like it’s always that way idk why. Maddie was hollering “IM SO HUNGRY GRRRRR” so I gave her a few dollars and said “get you something nice”. She got a bagged smoothing and a meat bar.
On the first plane Kerrigan was super easy, I however was super queezy. The turbulence made my head spin and I almost threw up weren’t it for Maddie’s shoulder. Anyway the baby started fussing mid flight so I gave her some of her smushed banana with my finger until she passed out in my arms. It was the best for about 4 seconds before she got uncomfy and woke up. That’s when her mother took her and rocked her like a wagon wheel until she slept for 20ish minutes.

Once the plane landed is when the fun started for real. We headed straight to the Centurion Lounge. Waited in a short line and met a Bilingual Biloxi Bell Dame. She checked us in and told us a little secret that if I call Amex and say I didn’t know about the $50 guest fee that they would refund me.
Once we found a seat, a comfy one too, we got to eating. We got two breakfast plates to eat and three drinks. Maddie got a Bloody Mary and later a mimosa, while I got a rum and coke, White Russian, and two beers. Our layover was 3 hours and ended up being delayed but we were chillin so hard we didn’t care. Everyone in the place also loved Kerrigan and older moms love making her laugh. We scored a banana and got her food ready for the next flight.
Once 2:30pm rolled around we headed for our next flight. but made a small pit stop at Cinnabon. My opinion on Cinnabon, like virtually every other nation wide food brand, is it’s disgusting trash that is only labeled food as a technicality, but I buy it anyway expecting it to make me happy, it did not.
Boarding the plane went well and it was just us next to each other flanked by a window and an aisle. this flight also went smoothly with only a few cry’s immediately remedied by the texture of macerated banana on her gums. My favorite part of the whole trip was the route our pilot, an Ebony woman, took. We went over ocean springs towards the Gulf and swung back around which ended up giving us a fantastic view of the coast in all her glory.
After baggage claim we were driven to 60 Bowman rd Petal, MS. The house located at this address contains two of Madeline Sheller’s 4 grandparents. They were amazed at the creation that spawned from Madeline’s womb cavity. Here look at these pictures!
